Sustainability isn’t so much an aesthetic goal but a key element within the entire development—from the material selection to the high use of recycled content within the building structure to green roofs and extremely efficient building systems, water conservation, rainwater harvesting and re-use. Features like triple-glazed windows and efficient mechanical systems are environmentally sound, they make economic sense and result in a modern building that breathes better, that’s efficient and healthy. That’s why B6 will seek to gain certifications from the most recognized third-party programs in the industry.
The most widely used green building rating system in the world, LEED provides a framework to create healthy, highly efficient and cost-saving green buildings. LEED certification is a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement. B6 will seek to earn a LEED Gold Certification by earning points across several categories, including energy use and air quality.
B6 is a building that supports wellness and healthy behaviour including the promotion of good nutrition, physical fitness, and mental health. To demonstrate our commitment to occupant wellbeing, we have registered for WELL v2 Certification through the International WELL Building Institute pbc™ (IWBI), providing direction in ten categories of building performance: air, water, nourishment, light, movement, thermal comfort, sound, materials, mind and community.
This rating system empowers landlords to understand, improve, and promote their buildings’ digital infrastructure. Designed to meet the technology needs of today’s tenants, B6 will work with WiredScore to ensure the building is optimized for superior connectivity and achieve certification.
